Redefining Leadership in a Constantly Changing World

With the rapid pace of technological innovation and shifting customer expectations, traditional models of leadership may no longer be effective in navigating the challenges facing banks.

Whether it is because of technological revolutions or changed customer expectations, banks need to adapt. The translation of these changes into a future-proof and yet resilient strategy requires a different leadership than banks used are used to. Giving people more ownership and initiative at all levels of the organisation is essential.

Rik Coeckelbergs will discuss with Nathalie Hazenberg the changing nature of banking, including the rise of fintech and increasing competition from non-traditional players. They will explore how self-organisation can help banks to innovate and stay ahead of the curve, while also maintaining a strong focus on risk management and compliance.

Nathalie combines her role within the bank ABN AMRO Bank N.V. with teaching as a master lecturer on Ethical Leadership, Organisation Design, Change Management and Organisational Psychology. Furthermore she is head of a supervisory board in primary education and author of books about people and organisation. Her latest book ‘Momentum’ she wrote together with her colleague Klaas Ariaans. This book poses a paradigm shift in the way we look at leadership and organisational design.
